BJR gets straight to work at Mount Panorama
Supercars
Brad Jones Racing made the most of the opening two hours of track time at Mount Panorama as Bathurst 1000 action got underway.
Running through a busy program, both the main drivers and co-drivers had substantial laps in the cockpit across the two sessions.
The focus for the day was checks and balances, with the team completing race runs, high-fuel race simulations and brake bedding.
There are two more practice sessions tomorrow before Qualifying at 16:10 AEDT, which sets the grid from 11th-26th for Sunday's race, with the top ten advancing to the Shootout.
Super2
Super2 drivers Brad Vaughan and Matt Hillyer have both had a strong start to their Bathurst campaigns.
Brad Vaughan finished both practice sessions in third with Matt Hillyer in sixth and tenth respectively.
Brad Vaughan (Dare Iced Coffee #80 ZB Commodore) is hoping to keep the pace and make a Top Five Shootout appearance
Matt Hillyer (Kangan Institute #2 ZB Commodore) is eager to find more speed with his car ahead of Race 1 Qualifying tomorrow.

Andre Heimgartner, #8 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“Interesting day. Just working on race car stuff, so hard to say exactly where we lay, but we’ll just try and extract some speed tomorrow and see where we are in the lineup. We just worked on procedural stuff today, which is good.”
Co-driver | Bryce Fullwood, #8 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“Obviously awesome to be here at the 1000. It’s a super exciting weekend. First day done in the car. A lot of systems checks and whatnot today. So not really sure where we stand. We haven’t really seen our own potential just yet, so we look forward to tomorrow and start to see how fast we can go and look forward to the weekend progressing.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“First laps of the mountain for this year and I felt pretty comfortable straight away. So, we'll have a look at all the data tonight and start thinking about qualifying tomorrow.”
Co-driver | Brad Vaughan, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Co-driver session, just doing our procedural stuff so nothing fancy to make us look good on the leaderboard. Just going through our step-by-step procedure to get us ready for Sunday.”
Macauley Jones, #96 Automotive Superstore Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Just a very procedural day today and a lot of race running. So, I don't think times are super indicative of where we really are. I think Jordan did a really good job in his session, and we'll go through all the information and come back tomorrow.”
Co-driver | Jordan Boys, #96 Automotive Superstore Racing Toyota GR Supra
“My day was pretty good. We did a lot of race running. Car feels pretty solid. Pretty similar to last year, which is encouraging. So overall positive.”
Super2
Brad Vaughan, #80 Dare Racing ZB Commodore
“We are the fastest Commodore, so that's always a positive. A couple red flags meant we didn't get too many laps in today, but the speed looks really good. Looking to qualify well, get in that shootout and have a good race.”
Matt Hillyer, #2 Brad Jones Racing ZB Commodore
“First day around the mountain got the eyes open wide. Got to buckle the belts tight tomorrow and put some clean tidy laps together for a good quali.”
