BJR’s Supercars crew race-ready, while Super2 team celebrates victory at the Mountain
Saturday at the Bathurst 1000 gave Brad Jones Racing the chance to lock in its procedures and race setup over the final two practice sessions.
After a wet morning, conditions had cleared by the first session, allowing the team to validate a number of setups across the garage. The second session was then used to rehearse live refuelling with the co-drivers behind the wheel.
Supercars will have a warm-up session, before The Great Race starts at 11:30am AEDT.
Meanwhile, in Super2, Brad Vaughan has catapulted himself back into championship contention, finishing the weekend with a commanding win from fifth on the grid and second overall for the round.

There’s another break between rounds with the next round being in Melbourne at Sandown Raceway on November 6-8.

Andre Heimgartner, #8 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“A positive day. Worked on the race car and made some progress. So, looking forward to tomorrow and who knows what's happening, anything’s possible.”
Co-driver | Bryce Fullwood, #8 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“Great day today. Obviously, Saturday done and dusted here. A lot of race running for us as I'm sure it's probably a theme you'll hear from all of our drivers. I think we made really good improvements with the car today and I'm excited for tomorrow. I feel we have a pretty good platform to work with and I think it's going to be a really exciting race. So I'm super excited to get into it.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Today was all about getting ready for the race tomorrow. We just tried to work on the setup and it's definitely gonna be tough out there with the high temperatures. So, lots of work to do tonight. Hopefully get a good sleep and see how we go.”
Co-driver | Brad Vaughan, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Supercars day was really good. Still doing a bit of tuning today and then a lot of pit stop practice as well. So, I feel like we're in a really good position for tomorrow as a team as well. It's a long race, anything can happen. We’ll see how we go.”
Macauley Jones, #96 Automotive Superstore Racing Toyota GR Supra
“I mean, my day wasn't super eventful. I just had the one practice session. Jordan did an awesome drive in his practice session with a very long race run, so that was really good and got a lot of good information from there. We did some driver change practice, heavy tanks and stuff today so felt like we had a reasonable day and we learned a bit for tomorrow. I think the deg is higher than we had probably expected with the higher temperature and when the sun comes out. So that'll be an interesting thing to play for tomorrow.”
Co-driver | Jordan Boys, #96 Automotive Superstore Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Good day today. Had my co-driver only session and did some runs with a full tank that felt really good. Did some long race runs to get ready for tomorrow. Big day tomorrow so we’ll see where we land.”
Super2
Brad Vaughan, #80 Dare Racing ZB Commodore
“Awesome start from P5. Got into P2 off the line by the first corner which was awesome. Then I had a great battle with Nash, got him up the inside at the last corner and then put my head down to win the race. So, thanks to everyone at BJR, the whole crew, Dare Iced Coffee and Dormer HVAC services for a ripper car.”
Matt Hillyer, #2 Brad Jones Racing ZB Commodore
“A disappointing Saturday. Had a power steering failure which slowly let go during the race and ended up completely going. Car was speedy at the start of the race and it's good to see Brad get a win for BJR. We'll reset and go for Sandown.”
