Tribute livery to celebrate Jason Richards’ legacy at New Zealand rounds
As Electro Voice joins Brad Jones Racing aboard Car 14 for the New Zealand double-header, the sponsor has chosen to honour the enduring legacy of Jason Richards.
Cameron Hill will compete at the Taupō (April 10–12) and Christchurch Super440 (April 17–19) events in an all-black Toyota GR Supra, adorned with silver ferns along its sides.
The design harks back to Richards’ first V8 Supercar from 2000, paying homage to the deep emotional connection between the team and the late Supercars driver.
“JR” raced his final two seasons with BJR and remained closely involved with the team following his cancer diagnosis.
After his passing in late 2011, the team chose to carry his memory forward, with the ‘JR Star’ prominently displayed on the B-pillar of every race car since.
A renowned Kiwi talent, every trip to New Zealand serves as a reminder of Richards’ lasting impact on both local and Australian motorsport, something Electro-Voice was keen to recognise through its involvement.
Electro Voice’s tribute comes as Brad Jones Racing prepares for another attempt to secure Richards’ memorial trophy, awarded to the top points scorer across all Supercars races in New Zealand.
BJR claimed the trophy in its inaugural year in 2013 in emotional scenes and continues to aim to reclaim it each time the series visits New Zealand.
Electro Voice, supplied by Jands in Australia and New Zealand, is an industry leading provider of premium sound systems, trusted in environments where performance and reliability matter most.

The BJR team travels with a selection of Electro Voice speakers and has ensured they have been freighted to New Zealand for the Kiwi leg of the Supercars Championship.
Fans will be able to see the new livery up close this afternoon at the Track to Town activation in Taupō.
BJR will be on-track tomorrow from 13:50 NZST / 11:50 AEST for Practice 1.

Brad Jones
Team owner, Brad Jones Racing
“It’s been 14 years since we lost Jase and it’s still very raw every time I think about his passing.
“This is a remarkable opportunity to celebrate his life and the great person he was both on and off track. Tomorrow is his birthday, so it’s a fitting time to take a moment and reflect. JR will always have a special place in our team and we carry his legacy with us wherever we go.
“It’s just that bit of extra motivation for us to make sure we are in the fight for the JR Memorial Trophy. As usual that’s our aim in NZ, with more races counting towards the trophy it means there’s more opportunity and I thoroughly believe we can do this.”
Cameron Hill,
Supercars driver, #14 Electro-Voice Racing GR Supra
“I’m honoured to be carrying Jason’s memory in NZ. He was a racer that a lot of people looked up to and it’s special to be able to race in his colours.
“Thank you to Electro-Voice for using this as a platform to continue his legacy.”
“I’m excited to head to NZ, the team has a lot of momentum and we’ve been able to build something exciting in the first two rounds. It’s obviously a new challenge with the fly-away type of events and with the track in Christchurch being a bit of an unknown, but everyone is in the same situation.”
