Productive opening practice in Adelaide for Brad Jones Racing
The opening session of the Adelaide Grand Final gave Brad Jones Racing a valuable chance to test a few theories ahead of the final races of the 2025 season. With only two practice sessions scheduled, Thursday’s half-hour hit-out provided crucial direction for the rest of the weekend.
Andre Heimgartner led the BJR charge, posting a time good enough for ninth by the end of the session.
Both Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood, who finished 17th, were satisfied with the early balance of their cars after the single outing.
Macauley Jones and his crew will dive into the data overnight as they look to improve overall balance, chasing more rear-end stability in the #96 Pizza Hut Camaro.
It’s a similar story for Jaxon Evans in the SCT Motorsport Camaro, with the team searching for additional stability and overall pace.
Practice 2 gets underway tomorrow morning at 10:30am ACDT, before qualifying and a 100km race round out the afternoon at 16:20.
Super2
Brad Vaughan has topped the second Practice session of the day in the Super2 series.
The #80 Dare Iced Coffee Racing ZB Commodore driver had pace all day finishing the first session fifth before taking the top spot in the second session.
Team-mate Cody Gillis also made gains improving to 13th after finishing the first session 16th.
The Wollongong-based driver hopes to look through the data tonight ahead of Qualifying tomorrow.
The duo hit the track at 9:55 ACDT for Race 1 Qualifying.

SUPERCARS QUOTEBOARD
Andre Heimgartner
Supercars driver, #8 R&J Batteries Camaro
“Not too bad for a first practice session. The car feels pretty decent; we’re just trying to pick our way through the setup and different things. Pretty happy with day one here in Adelaide.”
Bryce Fullwood
Supercars driver, #14 TRG Racing Camaro
"Still working it out, but I think the car’s not too bad. It looks like quite a few people ran green tyres. All in all, it seems we’re not in too bad a spot for the moment. I think the track will come to us a bit. We’ll come back and have another crack tomorrow."
Macauley Jones
Supercars driver, #96 Pizza Hut Racing Camaro
“I think we learned a bit in that practice session. The track is pretty green and I’m not overly happy with the car. It’s very loose, so we’ll take a look at a few things tonight and go again tomorrow."
Jaxon Evans
Supercars driver, #12 SCT Motorsport Camaro
“Plenty of learning today. Obviously, it’s hard for me coming back here after last year’s Turn 8 accident, but it’s always nice to drive this circuit. Adelaide is one of the best tracks we get to drive on. We still have some work to do overnight, but we’re slowly building even with it only being Thursday. We’ve got another practice before qualifying tomorrow, so hopefully we can improve from there.”

“The Dare Iced Coffee, Dormer HVAC Series Car 80 was a rocket today. Finished Practice 2 Fastest. Looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully build on the momentum at my home round!”
Cody Gillis
Super2 driver, #80 Perrys Fuel Distributors ZB Commodore
“Decent day today. Struggled a little bit in Practice 1. Definitely went over some data and some video to turn it around for Practice 2. Working on the car speed but obviously Brad in P1 for the second session so plenty of data and footage to go over. It was great to have the Perry’s and Dare guys out for rides this afternoon. Hopefully the weather stays dry for tomorrow and we’ll see what we can do.”
