Positive start for Brad Jones Racing at Perth Super440

Building blocks laid for Perth Super440 weekend by Brad Jones Racing in dual Friday practice sessions.

The opening day of action at Wanneroo Raceway gave the BJR crew the opportunity to evaluate several key setup changes, while the drivers settled into their Toyota GR Supra Supercars around the fast and flowing Perth circuit.

All three Brad Jones Racing drivers improved across the two practice sessions, with Cameron Hill (#14 Statewide Bearings GR Supra) setting the team's fastest time in both outings.

The Super440 format features three races across the weekend, with two 50-lap contests on Saturday before a longer 80-lap feature race on Sunday.

Interesting day. Pretty eventful but we’re slowly getting there. Feel like the base car isn’t bad, we’ve just got to pick our direction from here.”

Cameron Hill, #14 Statewide Bearings RacingToyota GR Supra

“Solid day, had a lot of things we wanted to try in practice and felt like we learnt a few things that will hopefully translate to some speed tomorrow.”

Macauley Jones, #96 JBS RacingToyota GR Supra

“The day wasn’t too bad. I feel like we made some good changes over the practice sessions and I feel like the balance isn't too bad. We feel like we're somewhat in the window and got some good direction I think from today and good changes. So hopefully tomorrow we can come out strong and make some tune ups overnight and do all the stuff we normally do. It was cool to do some rides the sponsors love it.”

Brad Vaughan #80 Brad Jones Racing ZB Commodore

“Good day. Fourth and third in both of the practice sessions. Sort of leaps and bounds with how we've come across today which is promising. I think Matt's fast and so am I. So just got to string it together tomorrow.”

Matthew Hillyer, #2 Brad Jones Racing ZB Commodore

“Day was good. First time at Wanneroo. Cool little track. Heaps of undulation and some big breaks, which is pretty cool. Gets you awake early in the morning. Qualifying and shootout tomorrow so pretty keen to get the car in the top five to be able to have a shot in the shootout and then set ourselves up for a good race tomorrow and then see where we pull up and reset for Sunday.”
