Brad Jones Racing’s Andre Heimgartner has continued his string of top-ten results with a strong end to the weekend at Sandown.
The team now prepares for the final round in Adelaide later this month (26-29 November).
While Heimgartner is out of the finals fight, he’s still able to advance his position in the Championship and aims to break well into the top ten.
Race 34
79 Laps
Andre Heimgartner (#8 R&J Batteries GR Supra) qualified 8th
Cameron Hill (#14 Dare Racing GR Supra) qualified 12th
Macauley Jones (#96 JWL Racing GR Supra) qualified 14th
Heimgartner enjoyed another strong result at Sandown, finishing 8th.
Jones was able to hold onto 14th at the flag
Hill was unhappy with the balance of the car during the race and couldn’t fall into a comfortable rhythm. The team made a change at his second stop, which helped, and he finished 19th.
In a change to Saturday’s Race 33, there were no Safety Cars, and the entire race was run under green-flag conditions.

“Solid day, good pace. I had an interesting start of the race. Got bottled wide at turn one pretty hard and went back a bit. But managed to do a lot of fuel saving and get us back in the game so that was really solid. Happy with another good weekend in the books. Looking forward to Adelaide where I love driving there. So, we've got some good momentum, and I think all cars at various stages are fast, so can't wait.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“The day started decent. We qualified pretty well. And were 12th. Just missed out on the shootout and then just got our balance wrong for the race. Really struggled with the car balance. Probably just took a bad bounce with some of the strategy where we fell, but ultimately, we just didn't have the speed in the race. So, we'll have a look at it and see what we can do better.”
Macauley Jones, #96 JWL Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Today wasn’t too bad. I felt like we had a stronger run in qualifying. It was ridiculously tight, which made it almost frustratingly tight because we're just sort of on the wrong side of the ten that I felt like we could have been to be honest. So, that was not too bad. We didn't have as good of a race car as yesterday, but we managed it pretty well. Reasonably happy with the weekend. It was some good consistency for us which I feel like is what we what we need at the moment. So, reasonably happy with the speed and everything.”

“Weekend done here at Sandown. Ended up P3 in today's race and P4 for the round. That puts us in a really good spot for the championship. Only nine points away from the championship lead, so effectively less than a position in points. One more round to go in Adelaide, Championship decider. Looking forward to it. We won there last year and it's my favourite track. Bring it on.”
Matt Hillyer, #2 Brad Jones Racing ZB Commodore
“Followed the train around today. Finished up P8. Good to see Bradley finish P3 and back in title contention going into Adelaide. Thanks to all my partners for their support this weekend. Looking forward to the last one in Adelaide.”
