Chaotic race nets double top-ten result for BJR
Brad Jones Racing has emerged unscathed from a chaotic Saturday race, with both Andre Heimgartner and Cameron Hill securing top-ten finishes.
Team-mate Macauley Jones was close behind, finishing just outside the top ten in 11th.
Despite the unpredictable race, all three BJR drivers were positive about the direction of the team and the progress made so far with the new Toyota GR Supra Supercar.
Hill led the BJR charge, producing an impressive drive in the Dare Racing GR Supra after starting 12th on the grid.
Multiple Safety Car interruptions created a frantic race, but Hill capitalised on the restarts to move into the top ten and held his nerve during the closing laps.
The Canberran crossed the line in eighth after a composed and determined drive.
As chaos unfolded around them, the BJR drivers kept their cars largely out of trouble.
Heimgartner delivered a strong recovery drive of his own, gaining seven positions after starting 16th.
The Kiwi had climbed to 10th by the end of the first Safety Car period before the frenetic final stages of the race saw him advance further up the order.
Heimgartner ultimately finished ninth after a spirited charge through the field.
Jones, in the #96 AlphaTheta GR Supra, was also heavily involved in the midfield battle.
Starting 18th on the grid, Jones took advantage of the race’s unpredictability to climb through the field and finish just outside the top ten in 11th.
The final Supercars race of the weekend is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:10am AEDT.

Andre Heimgartner, #800 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“Solid day today with a top 10 being this weekends saving grace. We moved the balancearound a bit. Feel like it's better in that last race. It’s hard to tell really how it was with lots of safety car laps. But, overall feel like we're moving the balance around and learning and it's heading in a better direction.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Today ended up being not too bad. We qualified 12th which was maybe a little lower than we could have been because we missed that second lap with all the shenanigans in qualifying. But, we had a had a good race. There was a lot of action out there and we managed to dodge most of it and we finished 8th. Onto tomorrow.”
Macauley Jones, #96 AlphaTheta Racing Toyota GR Supra
"Pretty chaotic race out there, some good stuff. It's pretty hectic but I feel like we made some improvements and got some learning from the race. Hopefully we can tune it up tomorrow. Qualifying was a bit better than the other day. I got out on track which was good with no issues and that was solid. We're still learning.”
