BJR celebrates double top ten finish on Sunday in Surfers Paradise
Andre Heimgartner was the biggest mover of Race 32, making up an enormous 11 positions to finish in 5th.
Cam Hill also had a great run to take 9th at the flag; Brad Jones Racing celebrates the great result across the two cars.
Next up for the team is Sandown in Melbourne (November 6-8).
Race 32
85 Laps
Cameron Hill (#14 Dare Racing GR Supra) qualified 10th but was promoted through a penalty to 9th on the grid.
Macauley Jones (#96 Automotive Superstore GR Supra) qualified 13th.
Andre Heimgartner (#8 R&J Batteries GR Supra) qualified 16th.
Heimgartner put in a big first stint; the Kiwi was the last to stop in the first pit stop cycle, coming in on Lap 51. He had great pace and was able to move forward over the next two stints.
Hill was the first of the BJR cars to stop, on Lap 21, fuelling to tyres and opting to take its longer fuel stop later in the race. The Dare Racing Supra was quite strong in the race and Hill was able to battle his way through the 85 laps.
Jones had an incredibly strong run and was in 11th late in the race. Unfortunately, the #96 Automotive Superstore GR Supra popped a brake duct off in the final few laps. The crew had to bring him into the garage to fix it and send him back out.

“Interesting day. Started 16th and had an alternate strategy which was really good and was really good on stint pace. So very very happy. Any day you start 16th and come 5th is amazing and could have been a bit better towards the end but really happy with that. Two fifths. I don't think you can ask for much more.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Today was really good actually. We had a great quali session to be fifth and make the shootout and then I took some risks in it which didn't pay off and made a few mistakes. So started the race 10th, actually ninth because Cam Waters had a penalty. Just tried to keep out of trouble early on. I felt like the balance wasn't too good at the start, but sort of got better and better as the race went on. So to finish ninth is good. We we haven't had a top 10 in a little while, so it was a nice little sugar rush hit for us.”
Macauley Jones, #96 Automotive Superstore Toyota GR Supra
“My day wasn't too bad. Felt like we made some progress with some stuff and rolled out reasonably well and we were running pretty well in the race and had a bit of a brake drama going on so ran out of brakes pretty late in the race which was pretty disappointing and and also scary around this joint, but all in all, I think we learned a lot this weekend and we’re chipping away. So reasonably happy.”
