THE RECAP

The highlight of the day for the Holden ‘Supporting Equality’ Commodore was setting the fastest lap time of the race, with a 56.7466s! The fast lap was soon after Nick had completed his compulsory pit stop and was on his second stint of the race, heading for the finish line. Unfortunately the blistering pace wasn’t able to be kept consistent during the race, as Nick was suffering with a lot of understeer, making the car quite difficult to handle. The team will complete an engine change tonight, just as precaution to ensure everything is running at its absolute best for tomorrows 200km battle.

THE WORD FROM HEAD ENGINEER – ANDREW EDWARDS

“We ran a bit longer in that first stint in hopes we could really push on in the final stint with some faster pace but unfortunately the car had too much understeer and the car lost its balance really quickly. It really hurt our stint pace and there wasn’t much we could do at that stage of the race.”

“We’ll focus on the setup changes we need to make tonight and come out with something better tomorrow.”
